Description:How long did it take you to make it? * It took 2 months to build it. I was slowly working on it each weekend.
How much did you save by making it instead of buying it? * A base model Emperor workstation is around $10,000. I spent between AUD $2000-3000 1 x Computer chair - $500 1 x Acer predator 27” gaming monitor - $890 2 x Acer 27” IPS monitors - $200 ea 2 x 3metres x 25mm aluminium pipe pre bent $300 1 x Led stainless LED cup holder $20 1 x 4 port USB 3 dongle - $30 2x rocker toggle switches - $10 ea (One toggle switch controls the foot rest actuator and the other toggle controls the actuator for the monitors) 2 x Linear actuators - $80 ea 3 x 3m USB 3 female to male cables - $30 ea 1x LED mousepad - $50 1 x melamine wood - $20 (Cutouts for arm rests) 1 x melamine edging tape - $7 6 x aluminium square tube - $20 ea 4 x stainless steel sheets - $25 ea 4 x stainless checkers corners - $11 ea 4 x primer paint - $15 ea 2 x gloss red paint - $15 ea 4 x gloss black paint - $15 ea (Various nuts and bolts) - $50 (Lots If other bits and peices) $100
Did you have any help? I measured and built everything myself. The only thing I had to get pre bent was the round radius bend pipes for the monitors because I didn’t have a pipe bender. But I welded the pipes together to form the bracket for the monitors.
